American Cornhole League Basic Rules
How to Play
Whether you're a seasoned player or picking up a cornhole bag for the first time, the most important rule is to have fun!
The Basics
> Teams consist of 2 players.
> The cornhole boards are 27 feet apart, measured from the front of one board to the front of the other.
> Each team has 4 bags.
> Players alternate throwing their bags until all 8 bags have been thrown.
> Players throw from behind the front edge of the board
> Bags ae thrown underhand.
Scoring
Bag in the hole = 3 points
Bag on the board = 1 point
Bag off the board = 0 points
We use cancellation scoring. At the end of each round, the lower teams' score is subtracted from the higher team's score.
Example:
If Team A scores 7 Points and Team B scores 4 points, Team A receives 3 points for that round.
Winning the Game
A game is played to 21 points or more at the conclusion of a round.
You do not have to win by two points, and there is no "bust" rule.
Most Important Rule
Have fun, enjoy the competition, and enjoy the day together!
Corhnhole for a Cause is about bringing people together, having a great time, and giving back to a good cause.
